  2. DeMarini Voodoo One
  3. Easton Hype Pro
  4. Marucci CATX
  5. Axe Avenge Pro
  6. Louisville Slugger Atlas
  7. Louisville Slugger Omaha
  8. True Temper Dynamic

2023 Louisville Slugger Meta

Louisville Slugger Meta baseball bat is my top choice for once again my top choice for 2023. This bat is available in BBCOR, USSSA, USA, and Youth models. Except for adding a USA version with a new end cap, the 2023 model has not changed from the 2022 version. It is an extremely popular bat and is the clear choice as my top pick. The only negative is the higher cost.

The Meta is a balanced, three-piece, fully composite bat. Its composite barrel makes it a great sounding, lightweight option with a huge barrel. Its patented 3FX Connection System gives it a stiff feel and reduces vibration in the hands. And, the barrel length is maximized with its Premium GT1™ End Cap.

Overall, the Meta is a balanced swinging bat that gives it the perfect combination of speed and power. I love its menacing black and gold design, its massive barrel, balanced swing, and massive-sweet spot. The price is high, but that’s its only downfall.

Pros:
• Large sweet spot
• Amazing Pop
• Perfect combination for speed and power
• Lightweight and balanced

Cons:
• It’s expensive

Demarini Voodoo One

DeMarini Voodoo One features new Barrel Graphics, an all-new Reinforced Knob and Tracer End Cap which is supposed to  complement the massive alloy barrel for dynamic strength and performance. Composed of lightweight composite materials to enhance bat speed while maintaining powerful barrel performance. It features an X14 barrel made of alloy, allowing for a powerful hit along with a tracer end cap, which enhances speed and overall performance.

What allows this bat to enhance the strength of the swing is its one-piece construction. This allows for maximum stiffness, ultimate bat speed, and an ultra-responsive feel. There is no doubt that this is one of the best baseball bats for 2023.

Worth its weight in gold, the 2023 Voodoo® One (-3) BBCOR Baseball Bat from DeMarini delivers the unparalleled pop players expect from its easy-swinging one-piece construction. Crafted for elite swing speed and potent exit velocities, the 2023 Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat brings back its signature X14 Alloy Barrel, beloved for its groundbreaking performance. Skully’s iconic imagery and a collection of DeMarini logos decorate the X14 Alloy, and a Refined Tracer End Cap with ultra-stiff composite materials optimizes barrel performance. Voodoo One features a one-piece construction with a Reinforced Knob for a stiff feel, resulting in merciless power output and a gold mine of production at the dish.

Pros:
• One Piece Stiff stick
• Hot out of the wrapper
• Large Barrel
• Huge Sweet Spot

Cons:
• Can be hard to find

2023 Easton Hype Comp

Easton Hype Comp is the same as the 2023 version. Its goal is to compete with the with the Louisville Meta. It replaced the ADV 360 on the BBCOR side, while the 360 is still available in youth models. It comes in BBCOR, USSSA, and Youth models. And yes, it’s expensive.

The Hype is a two-piece bat made from composite material, and here’s what it includes Thermo Composite Technology – They say it’s the lightest swinging bat In Easton’s Lineup. But, the say its composite barrel still displays a massive length and a big sweet spot. Now they have used TCT for years so people may be confused. You should think of this as an upgraded to what was used before. Connexion Max – This connection piece creates a stiffer feel at contact. And, it Is filled with Filled With Nitrocell Foam to limit hand vibration. Pro-Stiff Carbon Handle – Built with very stiff carbon fibers to exhibit a solid feel.

The feedback to this bat is positive and is an excellent option for those not concerned about the price. I would recommend you grab it if you want a bat that will continue to push forward the illustrious tradition of composite bats that Easton has built over the last 2 decades!

Pros:
• A very large sweet spot
• The stiff handle
• Patent-pending “Soft Knob” provides more leverage and power potential
• Very little hand vibration

Cons:
• We don’t know much about its durability

2023 Marucci CATX

Marucci CATX’s barrel distributes a feel much more evenly than most bats. It features a wider barrel, which should allow you to hit the ball on the sweet spot more consistently. Another cool feature is the liquid gel within its knob, this helps make contact much smoother and absorbs any excess vibrations. The design of this bat gives it a very comfortable handle that tapers, allowing for a good fit and grip. Overall, it should provide a smooth, solid swing and feel during contact.

The CATX has a one-piece alloy construction with a clean, consistent, traditional swing feel. The precision balanced barrel produces a lower M.O.I. for better precision and control. The balance point is moved 1” closer to the athlete’s hands that is supposed to create faster swings The patent pending Liquid-Gel Dampening Knob technology features the “optimal” amount of liquid-gel to reduce and absorb vibrations for a smooth, solid feel during contact. The AZR Aluminum alloy, while  responsive and durable is alloy, not a composite.

This bat is a good choice for contact hitter that are looking for a smooth swing and don’t care about the added distance a composite bat will offer.

Pros:
• Lower balance point
• Liquid-gel knob
• Lower M.O.I.

Cons:
• Alloy material

Axe Avenge Pro

The 2023 Axe Avenge Pro composite baseball bat is a 3-piece charge carbon composite barrel construction. Its VCS (Vibration Cancellation System) is supposed to deploy advanced shock absorbing material to the three points on the bat. The Hyperwhip composite end cap has a sleek profile that is supposed to provide faster and more efficient swings.

The attraction point of this bat is its AXE handle for speed and handling almost any pitch in the game. Oval bottom and full-length backside create a natural, seamless connection through your palm for tracking pitches and providing faster and powerful hits. Endogrid technology in the AXE handle absorbs a lot of vibration and smooth feels to your hands.

Like other bats, it also has a one year warranty, but AXE bats is one step ahead, they give you No Risk 30 day challenge, so if you do not like the bat then you may return it under 30 days.

Pros:
• Faster Swings
• Great Pop
• Lightweight and Balanced
• Reduced Vibration
• 30 Day Challenge
• Faster Swings

Cons:
• Not for power hitters

Louisville Slugger Atlas

Louisville Slugger Atlas

The CATX and Voodoo were expected to dominate the one-piece. The Atlas has proved itself to be a player.

The key selling point of the 2023 Louisville Slugger Atlas is its swing speed and exit velocity. It features a first-of-its-kind one-piece alloy design that optimizes wall thickness for maximum performance along the entire length of the barrel. This, is supposed to, allow for extreme barrel control. Also, a Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) within the handle says it will dramatically reduce vibration. The Atlas includes a redesigned SPD-Gen2 End Cap.

The bat is a one-piece alloy design where the barrel, as well as the handle, is made up with aluminum. The aluminum barrel is not only stronger but much lighter than most other alloy materials used for the barrel. This allows players to swing the bat much faster and it’s a great option for contact hitters.

Plus, the price is lower then it’s main competition.

Pros:
• Great swing speed
• Large sweet spot
• Comfortable grip

Cons:
• Alloy material

Louisville Slugger Omaha

Louisvill Slugger Omaha

What can I say? The Omaha has been a staple in the baseball bat world for a long time. I continue to recommend it because it’s a good bat at a good cost.

The 2023 Omaha baseball bat showcases an all-new one-piece alloy design, while also delivering the stiff feel and incredible pop baseball’s power hitter’s desire. An all-new TPX-24 alloy barrel and redesigned PWR End Cap delivers some new options for a bat that’s been around for a very long time. Also, a new Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) within the handle should reduce vibration from previous years models.

The Omaha is similar to the Solo but has more of an end-loaded design. The one-piece alloy bat offers a great feel that minimizes negative feedback on mishits. For hitters who want a slightly more end-loaded bat at an affordable price the Omaha is a perfect option.

I’m always a fan of the Omaha. For years, it’s been the standard of consistency, durability, and performance for one-piece bats. Because of its quality and reputation, it has been on the market and popular for many years. It’s one of the best values on the market.

Pros:
• The new TPX-24 alloy
• A stiff handle:
• Minimal negative feedback on bad hits

Cons:
• Alloy material
• Not quite balanced, but not quite end-loaded

True Temper Dynamic

True Temper Dynami

The 2023 True Temper Dynamic is a one-piece alloy bat with a balanced design built for both contact and power hitters. It is on my list because it is a good option for a very low priced bat.

This bat features True’s exclusive Quake Technology, a vibration dampening system in the handle for improved feel on contact and reduced sting on mishits. This vibration dampening system is supposed to offer an enhanced feel on contact and zero sting when you miss the ball.

The alloy design is called EVMAX and “allows” for a larger sweet spot that should transfer to more balls in play. The barrel is combined with the balanced design to give control with excellent swing speed. Though it’s an alloy bat, it comes with a cupped end cap design that takes away the weight at the barrel’s end.

Pros:
• Balanced design
• Quake Technology does what it says
• Large sweet spot

Cons:
• There are better bats, but this is a good option if you don’t want to spend a lot of money
